Ombre Cork Board with Turquoise Frame

Our heart cork board was so popular, we decided to create another.   Made using literally dozens of wine corks glued into a curio shelf, we arranged the naturally stained corks to create an ombre effect. The curio shelf is solid wood that we painted turquoise with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Use just like you would a regular cork board -- a place where you can pin notes, photographs, cards, etc.  Or use pearl headed pins to make a hook from which to hang jewelry.  Instant jewelry organizer!

Measures: 16.5" tall x 12.25" wide x 1.5" thick

This item is now available for sale in our etsy shop for $35 plus S&H:

Green Dresser -- SOLD on etsy (custom order)

Our sturdily built, vintage and solid wood green highboy will store a ton.  We created a more even distressed look on what was previously thick green paint. The surface is now smooth to the touch and has touches of white paint and wood showing through. Use in the bedroom for clothes, in the bathroom for towels and toiletries, or in an entry for mail, keys, sweaters, jackets, scarves, hats, and any out-of-season outerwear.  Top it with a mirror and you've got a hardworking, pretty piece of storage.

The turquoise birdcage a top has not sold yet, for anyone interested.

This item was available for purchase in our etsy shop for $100, as a custom order:

Vintage Turqua Floise Bird Cage--SOLD at Alameda Antique Market

This vintage bird cage probably started life as a small animal carrier, but with a coat of turquoise paint, some mossy sticks, and bright yellow (faux) birds, we think it makes a nice little accent piece.  The latch on the little rounded door keeps contents securely inside, should you decide to use it as a bird cage or carrier for the the real thing. We handmade a handle for it out of wire and brassy buttons!

Measures: 12.5 inches tall (15" tall with handle); 15" long x 9" wide

This item is now available for purchase in our etsy shop for $40 plus shipping and handling:

Colorful Cafe Table--SOLD on craigslist

Our colorful cafe table was upcycled from an old stool, a round table top and colorful shims and stir sticks attached to the top.  The feet of the stool have been dipped in navy blue paint.

This little table would sit nicely on a balcony or deck.  It would kick up the color factor in your kitchen too -- a bright and cheery place to sit and drink your coffee each morning!

Measures: 29.75" tall; 27" diameter top

This item is now available for purchase in our etsy shop for $60 plus S&H:

Antiques Faire

I'd say our first antiques flea market was a success.  We're back and exhausted, but happy.

Lane (Urban Orchard Interiors) , Wendy, and I (Claremont Finders Keepers) faced a rough start with our 3am wake-up to be there by 4am for an in-the-dark (and rain!) set-up.

Thankfully none of the merchandise was ruined by the rain and the market opened dutifully at six.

The sun made an appearance, the throngs came and bought, and we had a great day.

Remember the orange sofa that we found and intended to recover?

After a good cleaning, we decided that the fabric was in great shape and that we'd try to sell as is.  Well, that we did.  At the end of the day, we delivered this funky beauty to its new home.

The customer, who owns this beautifully decorated cottage, saw in that sofa what we saw.

And we could not imagine a more perfect place for the sofa to live!

One day later, I'm sore to the bone after having moved furniture in and out of a U-haul four times.  It will be several more months before we attempt another flea market (got to build up that inventory), but we'll be sure to do it again.

A huge thank you to Jessica and her husband, Elizabeth, Kara, Dianne, Sho-Sho and Magenta, and Sharon and her friend for making their way through the more than 800 vendors find us and say hello.  We appreciate your support!

And thank you to Lane for letting us use many of the photos you see here.  Someone forgot her camera.

We are back from vacation now and hoping to be a little more regular around these parts.  More projects to come!
